Energy Boosting Smoothies

1. CITRUS GREEN SMOOTHIE

A Green Smoothie is my go-to-guy when I'm feeling low on energy. It's loaded with dark leafy greens and citrus fruits, which are all really high in Vitamin C (a natural energy booster). This one in particular is jam-packed with spinach, kiwi fruit and pineapple, which all have a higher vitamin C content than oranges! This smoothie is great to whip up in the morning as it's easy to digest and will give you a good dose of fruit, veg, nutrients, antioxidants , fibre and protein for the whole day.

Ingredients:

- 1/2 cucumber

- Handful spinach

- 1 inch ginger chopped

- 1/2 squeeze lemon

- 4 leaves fresh mint

- 1/2 cup ice

- 1 cup pineapple juice

2. BERRY, BANANA, AVOCADO SMOOTHIE

This smoothie is bursting with antioxidants (from the berries and pomegranate) and healthy fats (from the avocado) which is essential for cognitive brain function. Something we all need first thing in the morning! It also contains chia seeds which pack a powerful punch of energy. In fact, Chia means "strength" in the language of the Mayans, and was considered running food because messengers could run all day with the help of these tiny superfood seeds.

Ingredients:

- 1 ripe banana

- 1/2 ripe avocado

- Handful frozen blueberries

- I cup pomegranate juice

- 1 tbspn chia seeds

3. OATMEAL & PEAR SMOOTHIE

When you are really hungry in the morning and need something rich, creamy and filling, this smoothie is the perfect choice. The combo of complex carbs in the whole rolled oats, protein in the yoghurt and vitamin C in the pear will keep you energized all morning. The dash of honey is also a natural sweetener full of antioxidants, enzymes, minerals, vitamins and amino acids, making it a smart natural energy booster.

Ingrdients:

- 1 ripe pear chopped

- 1/2 cup almond milk

- 1/4 cup yoghurt

- 1/4 cup whole rolled oats

- 1/2 tsp cinnamon

- 1 inch ginger chopped

- 1 tsp honey
